No Pupil Will Be Denied Education Over Debts In Akoko North West Constituency 11 — Lawmaker Felix Afe Assures
....commends Governor's Strides In Improvement of Education Sector.
A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Barrister Felix Afe, has assured that no primary school pupil in his constituency will be denied access to education due to an inability to pay fees or other debts.
Barrister Afe, who represents Akoko North West Constituency II, gave the assurance on Wednesday during a working tour of several primary schools in his constituency.
According to him, the visit served a dual purpose: to assess the performance of newly recruited teachers and to continue his commitment to supporting indigent pupils.
"Let me appreciate Mr. Governor, Dr. Lucky Ayedatiwa for his efforts at developing the educatuon sector, particular the recent employment of thousands of teachers. I came here to see how the new teachers are performing at their duty posts — whether they are doing well or have abandoned their roles after receiving their appointment letters," Afe stated.
"Secondly, I came to identify all the indigent pupils in our primary schools and to know how much each one is owing, so that we can settle the debts. As long as I remain in office, no primary school pupil in this constituency will be denied the opportunity to sit for examinations due to indebtedness — God permitting."
His tour included visits to St. John Anglican Primary School and Ansar-U-Deen Primary School in Ogbagi Akoko; St. Luke A Primary School and St. Benedict Primary School in Oke-Irun; and St. Luke B and St. Luke C Primary Schools in Odo Irun.
At each school, Barrister Afe and his team reviewed the list of pupils with outstanding debts and fully settled them — a gesture that was met with jubilation from both students and teachers. He also encouraged the pupils to take their studies seriously, stressing that education remains the surest path to success.
The lawmaker also visited the Primary Health Care Centre in Afin Akoko, where he interacted with the nurses. They appealed for more personnel to be deployed to improve service delivery.
School heads across all locations visited expressed deep gratitude to Barrister Afe for his generosity and consistent commitment to the welfare of pupils in the constituency.
