Oyebanji’s Aides Donate ₦10m for APC Nomination Form

Oyebanji’s Aides Donate ₦10m for His APC Nomination Form

Political appointees of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji have presented a cheque of ₦10 million as their contribution towards the purchase of his All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form ahead of the party’s governorship primary. The governor’s first term is scheduled to end in October 2026.

The donation, announced on Thursday, was presented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Strategy, Tope Olanipekun, on behalf of the group to Mr Oyebanji, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Niyi Adebayo. Olanipekun praised the governor for what he described as exceptional leadership, transparency, and dedication to the welfare of the people of Ekiti State.

According to Olanipekun, the gesture was entirely voluntary and underscored the aides’ confidence in the governor’s ability to sustain good governance. He noted that the APC pegged the Expression of Interest form at ₦10 million and the nomination form at ₦40 million, with sales scheduled to commence on August 26. The aides, he said, resolved to pay for the Expression of Interest form in recognition of Oyebanji’s endorsement by over 300 groups in the state.

He explained that the group’s decision was motivated by a desire to ensure continuity in the governor’s policies and projects, especially in infrastructure, human capital development, and economic growth. Olanipekun added that they would continue to mobilise support across the state to secure an overwhelming victory for Oyebanji in the forthcoming election.

Receiving the cheque, Governor Oyebanji commended his aides for their unwavering loyalty, describing the donation as more than a financial contribution. He said it symbolised a shared vision and collective responsibility for the progress of the state.

The governor urged the group to complement their financial support with voter mobilisation, stressing the importance of citizens obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards. According to him, this would ensure that the voices of Ekiti people are heard in the electoral process
