"South West integration, our priority in Ondo" says Akeredolu
Ondo State Governor , Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) has stated his administrations committment to achieving lofty objectives that will promote socio-economic growth in the south west region.
Akeredolu made this known in a message to Youth Regional lntegration Summit held at Osogbo, the state capital of Osun State.
The event, which was organised by the Osun state government, was graced by the Vice-President Yemi Osibanjo, Governor of Oyo, Abiola Ajimobi, representatives of Lagos, Ogun and Ekiti state governors, traditional rulers, political and spiritual leaders students, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) among others.
Akeredolu, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi said one of the cardinal focus of his administration was job creation for the youth and women through sustainable Agriculture and Entrepreneurship.
He added that one of the ways in achieving the vision is by creating enabling environment that will attract investors, not only in the state but across other south west states.
The governor revealed that his government has taken practical steps to make the dream a reality by signing an MOU with the Niger Delta Develppment Commission (NDDC) for the construction of the road linking the southern senatorial district of the state to Epe-Ibeju Lekki in Lagos state.
"Other roads connecting our state to our neighbours in Ogun, Lagos and Edo State are receiving considerable attention to make them useful in our networking ".
Akeredolu stressed that he has taken significant strides in ensuring that the state did not become a haven for miscreants and other deviants.
He added that one of the achievement on security was rescue of the six Epe students in Ajapa community in Ese-Odo local government and disarmament of militants in the two riverine local governments area of the star.
He noted that the fresh amnesty programme had yielded positive result by reducing drastically the rate of crime in the coastal areas of Ogun, Lagos and Ondo.
Akeredolu also pledged his unalloyed commitment to the principles of DAWN by engaging the youth meaningfully.
