HUNTERS DISCOVER 320 PVCS INSIDE BUSH

  'How hunters discovered 320 PVcs inside Bayelsa bush'                Permanent Voters' Cards(PVCs) Barely three weeks after over 10,000 Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs were found in a drainage in Rivers State, another 300 have been discovered inside an uncompleted building in Bayelsa State. The 320 PVCs were stashed in a bag discovered inside an uncompleted building along the AIT/Elebele road in Yenogoa, the Bayelsa State capital by hunters. The hunters handed over the PVCs to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday July 27, in Yenagoa, the state capital. While handing over the cards to INEC, the Commandant of the association, Moses Okanu, disclosed that the items were recovered when his men were combing the bushes and forests on Tuesday around Azikoro and Elebele in the state. UMAHI REJECTS BUHARI'S APPOINTMENT

  Umahi rejects Buhari's appointment Augustine Umahi Chief Austin, the he younger brother of Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, has rejected his appointment as the secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) by President Muhammadu Buhari. Umahi was one of the three persons appointed by President Buhari into different parastatals on Wednesday by President Buhari. But in a statement on Thursday, Umahi said he had to decline the appointment because that is not the type of job he is seeking for now. “This is because it is best for job seekers, retired civil servants or anyone who loves the job. “I am also convinced that at my age and work experience, it is not in doubt that I know what I want in life. I WILL HAND OVER TO YOU AND TINUBU, GOD WILLING- BUHARI TELLS SHETTIMA

  Buhari to Shettima: God willing, I will hand over to you and Tinubu President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the 2023 presidential election .  Buhari said this on Wednesday when he met with Kashim Shettima at the state house in Abuja. Earlier on Wednesday, the APC had unveiled Shettima, former Borno governor, as the running mate to Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate. According to a statement by Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, Buhari expressed delight over  the choice of the former governor of Borno as the APC’s vice-presidential candidate. Shehu also said the former Borno governor delivered a “flowery speech” in honour of Buhari, at the meeting, adding that i n a bid to lighten up the mood after listening to Shettima, the president said he would respond when he hands over to the APC candidates in 2023. “I will respond to your speech when I am handing over to you and your boss. ASUU has been on strike since February 14 over the federal government’s failure to honour an agreement on issues bordering on funding of universities, as well as salaries and allowances of lecturers. Unpaid salaries: Rivers poly lecturer turns bus conductor A lecturer at the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola in Port Harcourt, Zoe Tamunotonye, has turned into a bus conductor for survival over the alleged refusal of the school management to pay him his six months salaries.   A statement signed by its Registrar, Chris Woke, dissociated itself from an incident of alleged sexual misconduct against Tamunotonye involving a 200-level female student and consequently slammed him a three months suspension, pending the outcome of an investigation.   NDLEA opens ‘drug trafficking’ case against DCP Abba Kyari The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has opened its case against Abba Kyari, suspended deputy commissioner of police. At the federal high court on Monday, the prosecution called Patricia Afolabi a commander of narcotics attached to the NDLEA unit, as its first witness. Afolabi told the court that receiving and carrying out forensic analysis on drug evidence is a part of her job description She said she received one sealed transparent evidence pack containing 24 dispensing packs from Abubakar Aliyu, forensic liaison officer of the agency, on February 7, 2022. She claimed that each park had a 0.5gram white material. She said that a request form for analysis was also attached to the package. The witness added that out of the 24 packs, only 21 were cocaine. From the analysis, I conducted, which I labelled exhibit A-X, I found out that 21 of the exhibits contained cocaine, while exhibit H to G was found to be negative,
