HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HON WALE AKINTERINWA, A MAN WITH A GOOD HEART

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HON WALE AKINTERINWA, A MAN WITH A GOOD HEART Happy Birthday, Honourable Wale Akinterinwa, a man with a good heart. By Sunday Ajibola Edobor      Life is filled with individuals, who live as they see it. Many take life as a comedy, another set see it as opportunity to bless others while the last see live for themselves alone. To the first set, making people happy is their forte; they are lively, effervescent and fun to be with. There is no full moment with them. They do not take life as a serious matter. The second group are loved by people who meet, associate or have any dealing with them due to their large heart. Life to them means sharing. The last group are called niggards by Americans. Every avenue they have is to benefit themselves. Plight of the less opportuned, their friends, the poor and their subordinates mean nothing to them. Most of our people, particularly in position of leadership fall within the last set. That is the reason suffering is spreading across

IBIKUNLE JOHNSON ASAOLU (WELFAST PHARMACY): HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A TERRIFIC INDIVIDUAL

JOHNSON IBIKUNLE ASAOLU (WELFAST PHARMACY): HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A TERRIFIC INDIVIDUAL. Life can be interesting and puzzling at times. Sincerely, man lacks the ability, or pretends not, to know that we have some  in-built traits we cannot change. Also, what we are meant to be cannot be altered (though this might sound controversial but I know what I am saying). Some happenstances leave us confounded, perplexed and even make us utter, unconsciously, 'God you are in charge.' Definitely, He is. I am sure many will be asking, what is he going to write about this famous man that we do not know already? Give me a brake and hear me out.  After going through this, you will get to know him much better. This writeup will reveal some occurrences, which are facts that he himself will have to verify from his own parents. Thank God, both are still alive.               Many are bound to think his brainchild, Welfast Pharmacy is responsible for his fame. Noo, not at all. To some extent, it has di

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PROFESSOR DAVIES FOLORUNSO, A QUINTESSENTIAL ANIRARE

PROFESSOR DAVIES FOLORUNSO: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A QUINTESSENTIAL ANIRARE    There are two, no three ways through which people get to the top in life.  One is being bequeathed with parental inheritance. Another way is through other persons who turn their fortune around for better. The last is what i call the anirares (literally: who have themselves). In reality, it refers to individuals, with no help or talent, but are able to attain great heights by dint of sheer hardwork. Professor Davies Folorunso, (whom i will refer to as Dayo heretoafter) belongs among the Anirares. Life is all about offers, yes offer of choices; we are given options to follow paths we consider good for us. Anything that happens, no matter the gravity, is more often than not, given as excuses for our failure, inability and refusal to do the needful. Yet, no occurrence, happenstance or event shapes the life of man or be allowed to do so. But, most people dwell so much on these minute issues so much that they take t

BIRTHDAY BOY, MICHAEL ABAYOMI OJO: SALUTE TO COURAGE IN PURSUIT OF AMBITION

BIRTHDAY BOY, MICHAEL ABAYOMI OJO: SALUTE TO COURAGE IN PURSUIT OF AMBITION By Sunday Ajibola No matter how often defeated, you are born tovictory. The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.—Ralph Waldo Emerson.      In the journey of life, man goes through stages and phases. People seeing us from afar catch glimpses of the successes and failures and base their comments on the outcomes. Beneath these are pitfalls, disappointments, drawbacks, insults and failings. The undeniable reality fact of life is that man's journey is not one straight road. Every journey has it's detours and the road itself filled with  potholes, failed portions, bus stops and slopes. One gets to reach these parts of the road, before arriving at his destination. That is the reason behind Akure's saying that 'aye yani bi urin ose.' Life's journey is not as fast as trekking. Life can be interesting when one looks back and goes over the turmoil he experienced while growing up and in

ARTICLE: AYO MORADEYO: FIFTIETH GOLDEN YEAR IS GOOD ON YOU

AYOLOMO: THE GOLDEN AGE IS GOOD ON YOU.             By Sunday Ajibola     Marking of birthday means many different things to people. To some, it's to make merry and enjoy the day, to another, it's a party time and others it's meant to quietly give thanks to God. Whichever way you view birthday, it is a day deseving of special mention and gratitude. Many of our contemporaries did not live to attain the age we are marking. Being alive is a result of special grace, nothing more. Fiftieth birthday is so unique that the age had been coined and labelled golden. And in reality, it's golden truly, in a country where life expectancy is 45. Marking of birthday, the golden year anniversary is an avenue to express gratitude to God for his abiding protection over the celebrant.   It's not a good feeling to doubt an individual's claim about his age. More so, when it's not reduced or tampered with to prolong his stay in office. No wonder a philosopher said, "d

AYODELE FRANCIS OJO'S RETIREMENT FROM THE CIVIL SERVICE LEAVES THE SYSTEM SHORT OF ONE OF ITS GOOD MEN

AYODELE FRANCIS OJO'S RETIREMENT FROM THE CIVIL SERVICE LEAVES THE SYSTEM SHORT OF ONE OF ITS GOOD MEN By Sunday Ajibola Edobor   One of the opportunities given to all men and women is the chance to display the stuff we are made of. We do this through our attitude to our fellow man. Life is in phases. The times of man is in stages. Each man comes on board in form of an actor; plays his part in assigned role. The diligence, sincerity and fairness with which we play our parts and roles is left to us. The public service is an institution that accommodates all shades of people with various believes. It comprises of qualified, less qualified, competent and incompetent people. The system is another world on it's own. Everything good, bad and evil exists there as we have them in the world.   Many individuals have come into the system and get to the top with nothing to show in term of impact made on people's lives. They accumulated much wealth to the chagrin of their impoverished
